August Favourites

Wednesday, 30 August 2017
August has been a busy month between having 2 weeks holidays and doing loads of touristy things and then the rest of the time I've been busy working and on my days off spending time with my boyfriend. I have also bought loads of beauty products this month as there have been loads of new releases and I'm also seeing more autumn clothes pop up in shops, which really excites me as I hate summer clothes, I liked to be wrapped up warm.

After months of asking myself if the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray would really be worth the money, I made the splurge and treated myself (well I had a gift card, but you know what I mean). I've done a whole post on this setting spray (here) so I'm not going to bore you with another review but since it is in my favourites, it's clearly an amazing product in my eyes.

This is another product that I reviewed (here) and since I've been wearing tan lately, my one complaint (that it's too dark) is irrelevant and that product is the Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation. For years I have been using the Lasting Perfection Concealer by Collection and it is my all-time favourite, nothing has topped it and trust me I have tried loads. I honestly have no idea why it's taken me so long to try out this foundation but I am loving the coverage of it and it lasts really well without going shiny or patchy.

Another of my favourites actually pairs up perfectly with the foundation and it is the Morphe M439 Deluxe Buffer Brush which is the perfect density for getting a good coverage with any foundation whilst blending it perfectly into the skin. Honestly, I had thought the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush couldn't be beaten but I'm regretting not having this brush sooner now, I'm in love.

I think every beauty blogger has tried, reviewed and loved the L'Oréal Paradise Extatic Mascara and my review (here) of it has the most page views on my whole blog, which I'm super pleased about. L'Oreal mascaras have always been my favourite, as they don't smudge or clump and they always give me volume and curl, I, however, have never found a mascara that I would consider as perfect, until now.

When I went on a family trip to Cork this month we stayed just outside Blarney village and on the first night we went to the Muskerry Arms, which is so easy to get to and it has the vibe of a proper Irish bar. There is a restaurant in the upstairs of the Muskerry Arms and the food was amazing, I ordered 'The Best Fish in Town' which consists of a large cod fillet, cooked in beer batter served with fries, salad, tartar sauce and a slice of lemon.

A couple of days ago, my boyfriend treated me to lunch in the Ramore, Portrush, which I have been dying to go to for months. I ordered the Arizona Spiced Chicken which is served with tobacco onions, triple-cooked roasties and a chorizo sauce.

One thing that I have been buying a lot of recently is bits and bobs for my flat, which I am getting the keys for on Friday, and I'm super excited about that. So for my favourites, I had to include my favourite thing which is these Anthropologie Monogrammed Mugs which I bought (sort of as a 'moving in' present) for myself and my roommate. I will admit that I wouldn't normally spend £10 on a mug but I absolutely had to have these, and I thought it would be good to get my bestie one as well, because why not?!

What have you loved this past month?
