Showstopper Highlighters for only £3 | MUA Shimmer Highlighter

Thursday, 1 June 2017
Recently I purchased two stunning of the stunning Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighters in Superdrug by the brand MUA. I have quite a few MUA products and I don't know why I haven't picked up any of their highlighters before.

Update: I bought another highlighter and wanted to redo this post so that I could include it. All images are also new, the ones included at the bottom in the collage were in the original post.

Packaging
I really like the packaging for these highlighters as they're quite sleek and don't look at all cheap and the clear lids showcase the beautiful highlights, so these will definitely not be hidden away in a drawer.

Application
I've found that the best way to apply any highlight is with an oval brush, I picked up mines from Primark for just a couple of pounds and then I use the real technique setting brush to blend it out. By doing this I think that it gives the most pigmented, yet natural effect than any other method. To apply highlight to my brow bone I use my Morphe M214 oval shadow concealer brush to dust it on.

Formula
These highlighters are powders and are highly pigmented, as you can see from these swatches, especially since they are a high street product. I also found that these highlighters remain pigmented all day and do not fade, even if I have to put on some translucent powder during the day.

Colour
The two shades I got were Pearlescent Sheen (an icy highlight with blue pigments throughout) and Golden Scintillation (a cool-toned gold highlight). Both shades are highly pigmented and blend out really nicely to give a softer glow. Personally, I prefer the Pearlescent Sheen when my tan is nearly completely faded or completely off as it may be a bit too white for a tan. That being said, the Golden Scintillation shade is perfect for a tan. Below there are links and pictures to the whole range, so that you can check them out if your interested.

The new shade that I picked up was Radiant Cashmere, a beautiful peachy bronze shade. At the minute I'm loving this one most at the minute, as I've decided to not wear tan these days and this shade gives such a natural highlight to the skin.

Wear
All these highlights last all day, and the powder I use isn't too thick so it still shines through even with a layer ontop of it.

Price
For only £3 each, these MUA highlighters are perfect for anyone on a budget, although I do believe that they may even be better than some high-end brands as well.

Overall
Altogether, there are 9 shimmer highlighter shades in the 'Undress Your Skin' range, and I will definitely be trying out some more in the future (as I've proved with this update).
