June Favourites

Friday, 30 June 2017
June has been an amazing month, and I'm loving being able to spend more time focusing on something new. For today's post I'm going to share what I have been loving throughout June, including some beauty products, food favourites and what I have been doing during my spare time.

June Favourites

Beauty

MUA Highlighters
MUA are a brand that I love to use and experiment with, because they're always bringing out new products and I never really know what to expect. When I saw these highlighters I never really expected much and I was so wrong. But I'm not going to speak any more of these as I have a WHOLE post of it here

Maybelline Dream Cushion - 01 Natural Ivory
At the minute, my hayfever is really bad and I'm not wearing mascara for that reason and so I've been going for a lighter and more natural makeup look. Maybelline recently launched this cushion foundation which also is SPF 20 (perfect for summer) and it gives enough coverage to even out my skin tone but its really light on the skin. One thing I will say though is that I don't like the cushion applicator (although I would probably use it if I was travelling) and I prefer to use my Real Technique Expert Face Brush instead.

L'Oréal Brow Artist Plumper - Medium/Dark
As I have been going for a more natural makeup look for day-to-day, I bought this brow gel mascara from L'Oréal which has fibres within the formula, creating full brows. This therefore allows me to have bold yet natural brows, and it takes so much less time as well, which is always a positive to me as it means more time to sleep in the mornings.

Simple Kind to Eyes Revitalising Eye Roll-On
This post is all about products that I've bought because of my hayfever and the most helpful thing that I purchased was this eye roll-on from Simple. Simple is one of my favourite skincare brands, as their products are all full of vitamins, skin-loving ingredients and they have no artificial perfumes or colours. The Revitalising Eye Roll on includes cucumber extract and multi-vitamins which help to reduce puffiness and cool down your eyes when they're feeling irritated.

Food

Golden Popcorn - Sweet Love Story
OH MY GOODNESS This is the nicest popcorn I have ever tasted IN MY LIFE! I have a sweet tooth and I have been looking for an alternative to eating biscuits at night for supper. I feel like this amazing popcorn is a great alternative, as the calorie contents are lower than what I'd usually be eating, and I definitely need something sweet at night. I haven't tried the Salty Sea Epic or Sweet and Salty Dynamic Duo so I am strictly talking about the Sweet Love Story flavour but they definitely beat Butterkist in my books.

Tides, Portrush
My boyfriend and I had a lovely day together and I fell in love with yet another restaurant, Tides in Portrush. For my starter, I had the Goats Cheese Bruschetta, and although it turns out I don't like Goat's cheese, I did eat the actual bruschetta without it and it was lovely. Then for my starter I had 8oz Rump Steak that comes with tobacco onions and a gravy. It was all so lovely and we had a table right beside the window which looked out over the water. It was definitely the best meal of this month.

Entertainment

YouTube
I'm quite into YouTube at the minute and the two I'm loving at the minute are PointlessBlogVlogs and Sprinkle of Glitter. The main reason that I'm really into watching Alfie Deyes' vlogs is that he and his girlfriend Zoe Sugg have moved into the most amazing house, so at the minute their vlogs are focused around decor, which I love. Also, I really like Louise Pentland's recent videos on her channel Sprinkle of Glitter which are about her pregnancy. I have been following Louise on social media for the past few years and I am so happy for her at the minute, especially since she published her first book yesterday, I've already started reading it.

Love Island
At the minute I'm not binge-watching any TV series although every night I do settle in bed to watch the latest episode of Love Island. At first Jonny and Camilla were my favourites, although Jonny is starting to show his true colours and so my current favourite couple is Marcel and Gabby. They are honestly so perfect for each other.

Paris for One - Jojo Moyes
I literally read this entire book within 24 hours, however I must admit I was slightly disappointed in it altogether. I have been a fan of Jojo Moyes since I first read 'Me Before You' and this book is actually a collection of short stories. The first story in the book, Paris for One, is absolutely amazing and I fell in love with the characters. However, the others I was disappointed by and I felt like they all ended too early and maybe were just too vague and could have been better expanded. Although I still read every one of them because they were all well-written.

Wishlist Wednesday | ASOS

Wednesday, 28 June 2017
I'm always shopping online for clothes and these next ones are from one of my favourite online stores, ASOS. The reason I love ASOS so much is because it is so affordable and there is so much choice. You can literally find a top in every top, colour and material to match in with your perfect outfit, and if you were physically shopping, you'd probably be searching for hours. The outfits are all really summery in this post and perfect for going on holidays with.

Wishlist Wednesday | ASOS

Outfit 1 for my wishlist post consists of the Pull & Bear Badge Detail Denim Jacket which is oversized and perfect for just chucking on with any outfit. I then chose the ASOS Beach Co-ord Bandeau Top and Shorts with Ruched Frill Detail which isn't my usual choice but I'm sorta loving in, it's quite a beachy outfit. To complete the outfit I paired it with the ASOS JACE Fringe Espadrille Sandals which are perfect for summer whether your just going for a short stroll, nipping to the shop or going to the beach.

Wishlist Wednesday | ASOS

The second outfit I've featured includes this lovely ASOS Denim Dungaree Dress in Off White with Tobacco Stitch which I thought would look amazing with this pink Jack Wills Pink Ringer T-Shirt with Chest Logo. The favourite part of this outfit however are the ASOS TAKE OFF Wedge Sandals, they are so comfy looking, perfect for summer.

Wishlist Wednesday | ASOS

The third outfit I created features this amazing ASOS Crop Swing Cami in Sequin which I paired with the ASOS Ridley Skinny Jeans in Clean Black with Rips. I then completed this outfit with the ASOS Penalty Wide-Fit Pointed Heels, I think this would be the perfect outfit for going out in.

Wishlist Wednesday | ASOS

The final outfit features this ASOS Bunny Tie Gingham Beach Co-Ord which I thought was perfect for the beach. But you can't go to the beach without a pair of amazing sunnies so I chose the Stella McCartney Square Aviator Sunglasses and of course for footwear I went with the Missguided Flatform Espadrille

Zoeva Coral Spectrum Blush Palette

Monday, 26 June 2017
In last week's Wednesday Wishlist post which featured Beauty Bay, I said that I wanted the Nude Spectrum palette. Well I fell in love with that palette and decided to get it HOWEVER when I was searching for it, I found the Coral Spectrum Palette and OH MY GOODINESS I fell even deeper for this one - just look at those shades.

Zoeva Coral Spectrum Blush Palette Review

Packaging
This palette is so pretty in terms of it's packaging, although I do tend to prefer plastic casing, however I probably won't be travelling with this palette so I don't really see it as a massive issue that it isn't plastic.

Zoeva Coral Spectrum Blush Palette Review

Application
These blushes apply so well and when I first saw the bright pink shade in the palette I thought I wouldn't get much use out of it although I tried it quickly and it actually looks so nice because it blends into your skin. Although I must say the deep peachy-brown shade is probably my favourite as it is exactly what I look for in a blush - it even has a tiny-little bit of sparkle in it.

Zoeva Coral Spectrum Blush Palette Review

Formula
With a lot of powder products, they tend to be a bit chalky but these blushes are all so creamy and I honestly could not be any happier about that. They are also really blendable which of course means that all-in-all they are literally everything that I look for in a blush palette.

Colour
These four shades are perfect and really they're quite diverse from one another, like none of them are at all similar. Also, I'm not someone who has a big blush collection either so I definitely don't have anything similar to these from another brand either, which I always like. It also states on the beauty bay website that you can layer them over each other to create further shades, although I have not tried this myself.

CR010 - Bright coral with orange undertones
CR020 - Nude-tinged pink
CR030 - Mocha pink with a golden shimmer (my fave so far)
CR040 - Pale beige with warm undertones

Zoeva Coral Spectrum Blush Palette Review

Wear
This blush palette provides both subtle and eye-catching shades so there is something for everyday looks as well as night looks. I've wore these blushes every day since receiving it in the post and I must say that I cannot complain at all about the durability of them. Since these powders are creamy, they blend into your skin really well and so they do last longer than other blushers that I've tried in the past.

Price
When I saw this palette, I initially thought that it would be overpriced, but I was so happy when I saw it was only £15, which is definitely good when you're getting four gorgeous shades that I'm sure will last a long time. I've included two links below to where you can purchase one for yourself.

Overall
I'm loving these blush shades, they are perfect for summer and they are definitely well worth the money paid for them. A little goes a long way with these shades and it literally only takes a couple of dabs with my Real Techniques Blush Brush and I'm ready to go.

What's your favourite blush for the summer?

I Want to Live in a Castle | Tullynally Castle Gardens

Friday, 23 June 2017
Tullynally Castle Gardens (also known as Pakenham Hall Castle) is a country house located near Castlepollard in Co. Westmeath, Ireland.

The Castle

The Castle itself is in a gothic style and has over 120 rooms which have housed the Pakenham family, who are now the Earls of Longford, for the past 350 years. There is currently three generations of the Pakenham family living in the Castle and so it is not open to guests, which was quite disappointing for me as I would have loved to see inside.

The Gardens

Tullynally Castle is surrounded by 12 acres of park land and gardens, which feature a walled garden, llamas, wonderful caricature-style sculptures and carvings. As stated on their website, most of the current layout dates from the early 1800s but the current owners have added some features over the last 50 years.

This map (found on the Tullynally website) shows the layout of the castle grounds. I loved the day out that my family and I spent here at Tullynally and it's especially great for families, even with prams, as there are pathways and relatively even ground.

Wednesday Wishlist | Beauty Bay

Wednesday, 21 June 2017
Today's post is another in my weekly 'Wednesday Wishlist' series, although this one is centred around beauty products and I have chosen 3 brow, eye, concealer, mascara, foundation, blush and lip products that I would love to try.

Brow

The Zoeva 'Brow Spectrum Palette' contains 9 brow powder and highlighters and so this means that with one palette you can switch up your brow look on a daily basis. I myself, love to have a natural brow for a day look, when I'm just running errands or going to work, but I love a dark, dramatic brow for when I'm going out so this palette would be perfect. It's also only £20, and for so many colours, it's quite a bargain.

Next up is the LASplash 'Ultra Define Brow Mousse' which comes in 6 different shades, so there's bound to be a shade to suit everyone. I love a good brow pomade due to their pigmentation, and I also find that they are easy to work with.

Finally we have the L.A. Girl 'Inspiring Brow Kit' which comes in three sets - light, medium and dark and they all contain four shades. I like the fact that this palette comes with tweezers, an applicator and a mirror, as it would be good for travelling.

Eyes

I fell in Love with Zoeva's 'Nude Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette' as soon as I seen it. But then again, who doesn't love a nude palette. I watched a few different tutorials on YouTube as well and honestly I have never wanted a nude eye palette so much before.

The next palette I found was the Morphe '25A Copper Spice Eyeshadow Palette' and it looks like it was made especially for a bronzed goddess. WOW there's a few shimmers in the palette that look so pigmented, I find that it's hard to find that in a pressed shimmer.

Next up is probably the palette that most YouTuber's have got and use in 80% of their tutorials, the Violet Voss 'Holy Grail Eyeshadow Palette' and let's be honest, it is a holy grail. The one thing that has made me not get this palette yet, is the price. To be honest, I don't think I've ever spent more than £20 on a palette and I get nervous thinking about spending that much on a palette, although I know I will give in at some point.

Wednesday Wishlist | Beauty Bay

Concealer

For a while, concealer wasn't even part of my makeup routine when I was going out, never mind on a daily basis, but honestly I would miss it if I didn't wear it every day now. Personally, nothing is better than Collection's Lasting Perfection concealer, but I love to try new ones from time to time.

Last week I saw Laura Geller's 'The Real Deal Concealer' and went to find some reviews on it and honestly no one had anything bad to say. It boasts that it has serious coverage which I like in a concealer, even though my skin isn't too bad with blemishes, my skin tone is quite uneven.

Next up is Artdeco's 'Long Wear Waterproof Concealer' is probably my favourite of the three, purely because it has a doe-foot applicator which I find really helpful when I'm applying concealer. I've never tried anything from Artdeco but this concealer will definitely be the first thing I get and it's currently on offer so I'll be picking up one soon.

The final concealer I chose was the LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer. I heard about this concealer from Oh So Femme and ever since I've been dying to try it, the only thing putting me off is that it's in a tube and as I've mentioned I love a doe foot applicator. Another thing that I love is that it comes in so many shades as you can see in the image below.

Wednesday Wishlist | Beauty Bay

Mascara

I am a massive mascara lover and I always love to try out a new one every time, although I do repurchase my favourites still.

The first one I picked out is the Smith & Cult 'Lash Dance Mascara' which is reported to be a weightless, volumising mascara and I love the shape of the wand and it also has the perfect amount of bristles to allow for clump-free lashes with every application.

The next one comes in from Artdeco and it is the 'Colour and Care Mascara' which is rich in nutrients including jojoba, argan and coconut oils which helps to curl and lengthen the lashes.

The Stila 'Huge Extreme Lash Mascara' is said to be a clump-free and smudge-proof mascara that creates bold lashes. The wand is curved to mimic the shape of the eye in order to allow for every lash to be coated by the mascara.

Wednesday Wishlist | Beauty Bay

Foundation

First up is the L.A. Girl 'Pro Coverage HD Long Wear Illuminating Liquid Foundation' which has a full coverage which allows for a flawless finish. The formula includes antioxidants which cares for your skin whilst also hydrating your skin.

The Milani 'Conceal and Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation and Concealer' is one that I have had my eye on for a while now as it claims to provide an even, flawless base. I love a flawless finish to my foundation, especially on nights out, although I would still wear it for a day look as well, just because I like the way my skin looks.

For the final foundation, I have chose something with a lighter coverage, which is always perfect for those days when you want to go for a more natural look. The Stila 'Illuminating Liquid Foundation' is perfect in providing a coverage to even your skin tone without suffocating your skin, making it perfect for summer. This foundation provides a semi-matte finish and as it is infused with Mica it reflects light and leaves a flawless finish.

Wednesday Wishlist | Beauty Bay

Blush

You can probably tell already from this post that I love Zoeva palettes their 'Nude Spectrum Blush Palette' is no different. These four shades are perfection in a palette, I'm not usually a big blush sort of person but I can tell already by these shades that it is perfect for what I usually look for. Included is a light peachy-beige shimmer, mocha-toned nude shimmer, pale-copper with chocolate and beige undertones subtle shimmer and a matte dark-peach nude.

I have read a countless amount of blog posts comparing the Milani 'Baked Blushes' to other high-end brands and so I have been looking for the right shade for me and I think I found it in the Rose D'Oro shade (pictured below) as it is a lovely rose-toned pink with a gold shimmer and I've seen swatches and it looks so natural.

Another palette that I love the look of and that I've read so many amazing reviews on is the Morphe '9N The Naturally Blushed Palette'. This palette features 9 shades in total - 5 subtle mattes and 4 shimmer-infused hues. I've seen swatches on this palette and I've also watched some tutorials which have even layered some of these colours together.

Wednesday Wishlist | Beauty Bay

Lips

The final thing that I will be looking at is lip products and at the minute nothing can beat my Barry M Matte Me Up Liquid Lip Paints, although I'm still going to try out new lip products, because I love treating myself to a new lip. I will note that I have chose a few of the colours that I liked from each range.

First up is yet another Zoeva product with the 'Pure Lacquer Lips', the shades I was particularly interested in is Strong Career (warm rosy brown) and Sensual Curve (brown-toned oxblood). The thing that attracted me to this in the first place was the shape of the applicator, as it looks like it would be precise. This lip lacquer boasts a high-shine finish which is durable, just what I look for in any lip product.

Next up is the Stila 'Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick' which is stated to last up to 6 hours without bleeding or transferring. The hydrating formula means that your lips do not dry out or crack when wearing this liquid lipstick. The shades that I particularly liked was Angelo (pale pink), Bacca (raspberry pink) and Biscotti (light brown).

Lastly is the Morphe 'Liquid Lipsticks' that have a modern matte finish. These lipsticks are said to be long-lasting with a non-drying formula that is velvety in texture. The four shades that I liked most were Suspect (nude with brown undertones), Fancy Pants (berry pink), Peanut (caramel) and Phatty (cool-toned burgundy).
